1. Operating Entity
Varanasi Boats (Varanasi Boat Services Collective (Regd. Riverfront Operator)) acts as an authoritative booking and dispatch service coordinating registered, licensed hereditary boatmen operating on the Ganges in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
2. Mandatory Water Safety & Life Jackets
In accordance with directives issued by the District Magistrate of Varanasi and the Uttar Pradesh Jal Police, every passenger aboard any vessel operated or coordinated by Varanasi Boats must wear an approved marine life jacket throughout the entire duration of the journey. Refusal to wear a life jacket will result in immediate termination of the trip without refund.
3. Zero-Extortion & Rate Guarantee
All tariffs confirmed in writing via our official WhatsApp channels or riverfront desks are final. Boatmen are strictly prohibited from demanding mid-river tips, fuel surcharges, or supplementary ceremony fees.
4. Prohibited Activities & Sanctity of River
Smoking, consumption of alcohol, or discarding non-biodegradable plastics/trash into the holy river is strictly prohibited. Passengers are expected to maintain respectful decorum while passing the sacred cremation grounds at Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghats.
5. Weather & Government Suspensions
The safety of passengers is sovereign. If local authorities or Jal Police issue orders suspending boat movement due to river flooding, monsoon high currents, or zero-visibility winter fog, operations will pause immediately and passengers will be entitled to a full refund or free reschedule.
